In 2017, the Research Development, Community Services and Scientific Publication Unit (UP4I) conducts research programs with more diverse schemes and larger funding allocations. The 2017 research scheme is aimed at achieving faculty targets in which research activities should be directly proportional to the number of lecturers’ publications in accredited journals, internationally reputable journals, internationally indexed journals and indexed conference proceedings. In addition, the diverse schemes are expected to encourage lecturers to conduct collaborative research across departments as well as involving students in research with the ultimate goal of nurturing the academic culture in the Faculty of Law Universitas Airlangga. To facilitate research in 2017, the Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. 106 / PMK.02 / 2016 stipulates that research is no longer measured from administrative work related to financial accountability. Instead, the research performance is measured from the lecturers’ publication activities on the funded research. Therefore, the Faculty of Law Universitas Airlangga through UP4I encourages lecturers to maximize the 2017 research scheme to increase the number of publications.
